The Nepal-bound Tata Sierra has secured a full 5-star safety rating from Bharat NCAP, reinforcing Tata Motors’ growing reputation for building structurally robust SUVs.
The Sierra achieved 31.14 out of 32 points in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and 44.73 out of 49 points in Child Occupant Protection (COP), placing it among the top performers in its segment.
At its global debut in late 2025, Tata showcased the Sierra’s crashworthiness with a controlled head-on collision between two identical units at 50 km/h with a 50 percent overlap—simulating a high-severity, real-world crash scenario.

The demonstration highlighted the SUV’s ability to maintain cabin integrity while effectively coordinating restraint systems such as airbags and seatbelts to mitigate occupant injury.
Bharat NCAP tests were conducted on the Accomplished+ and Adventure+ diesel variants, though the 5-star rating extends across the entire model range. In the side pole impact assessment, the Sierra was rated ‘Ok’, while overall performance remained consistently strong across categories.

In the frontal offset deformable barrier test, the SUV delivered ‘good’ protection for the driver’s head, neck, pelvis, thighs and feet, with the chest and tibia regions rated as ‘adequate’.
For the co-driver, protection levels were largely ‘good’, with the exception of the right tibia. Side impact evaluations—including both movable deformable barrier and pole tests—returned ‘good’ protection ratings for critical body regions such as the head, chest, abdomen and pelvis for both front occupants.
On the safety front, the Sierra comes standard with six airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, all-wheel disc brakes, rear parking sensors, and an electronic parking brake with auto hold. Higher trims further enhance the package with a 360-degree camera, Level 2 ADAS suite, auto-dimming IRVM, and blind-spot monitoring.
